Hannah Bertram’s work explores the possibility of preciousness within the incidental. It proposes an alternative experience of preciousness in which value is found not in the perpetuity and richness of ornamented objects, but within the subtlety of transient experiences. Artist Statement
Thanks to an Australia Council grant Hannah will be working on a project called The Silence of Becoming and Disappearing throughout 2010. This is a project of ephemeral site-sensitive dust works created and installed in 12 private homes. The works are developed in consultation with the residents - who are responsible for choosing both the duration of the installation and who the audience will be. This site will be updated through the year to display details and images of each installation as they are produced.
