In an a discussed courtyard behind the Mathers Museum, Indiana, the walls were coated with grim, dirt and dust. Over the course of several weeks I cleaned a pattern into the patina of the walls. This decoration has now been left to gather further grim as the seasons weather and go on to effect the surface of the wall. The excavation of the decorative pattern will eventually be subsumed by the decay that nature clams upon the abandoned built environment.
